Club News and Events
Whilst the golfing season for 2016 has come to a close we are well underway with preparations to make our course and clubhouse even better for 2017! At the end of the season we began contruction of a decided ‘short game area’ which features a large putting green as well as a target green to practise pitching and chip shots. This also features bunkers so you can practise all aspects of your short game. As can be seen from the photo below this is progressign nicely and we expect to able to formally open this in the early part of summer 2017. This facility will be fantastic for our members to use but also allow us to further improve and expand our existing junior coaching programme!
During the winter months we also have ambitious plans for improving various aspects of the course. We will be adding new drainage to the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th and 12th holes to improve areas which are typically wetter than other parts of the couse. We are completly re-doing a number of bunkers on the course and this will be evident on the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th holes. Lastly, a number of larger trees which are nearing the end of their life will be removed. As a result of this acitvity, we anticipate it will be possibly to improve the growth on a few tees around the course which are usually ‘shaded’.
The inside of our clubhouse has just undergone a signficant refurbishment. This has seen new flooring, lighting and furniture in our welcome hall and lounge/bar area. As can be seen from the photos below, this has resulted in a warm, modern and fresh feel to the space. If you haven’t already been to see the change then why not stop by have a look! We feel that the new appearance and the stunning views of the neighbouring hills makes our lounge the ideal spot to enjoy some fine food or a coffee.
